Ok well i couldnt have a music blog and leave off one of the most creative and minimalist bands out there. Spoon as one friend said "abuses rhythm", and i totally agree. Most spoon songs just make you wanna dance, they have this brilliant way of letting the drum beat run the song, while simulatenously minimalizing the use of guitar. I havent heard any other band use these specific theories for music. I saw them on Austin City Limits a while ago, when Gimme Fiction came out, i remember Britt Daniel talking about how it has been difficult to re-create their sound live, because it the studio they will add more and more instruments for usually just a 5 second clip of the song.
