This is something I learned of recently from my sister, who always seems to know just what I would like. I am more excited about this music than I have been about any other music in the last year. This 6 song EP is just brilliant, beautiful, rough, simple. Listen to it and let me know what you think. Am I going crazy or is this as amazing as I think it is?

You are certainly not crazy, welcome to the Avett Bros. fan club. As a recent inductee myself, I would encourage you to do whatever necessary to see one of their legendary live shows. It will not dissappoint. Gleam 2 is due to come out this month. This album and the two latest full-length albums are available at emusic.com (cheap). Four thieves gone is more uptempo, rootsy, and punk influences; whereas Emotionalism incorporates everything from latin, classical, 80's rock and everything else and has a greater number of ballads. It is also probably the most accessible. All of their albums are musically and lyrically phenomenal.
Correction: The Second Gleam is due out July 22.
